Stakeholder Engagement
Mohawk is committed to listening, learning from and considering the perspectives and needs of those stakeholders with whom we interact in the course of business and as a corporate citizen. Our stakeholders are people, groups, organizations or systems that affect or can be affected by our Company. These include shareholders, customers, employees, communities, consumer end-users, suppliers, governments, the media, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and reporting agencies. We have conducted a thorough stakeholder analysis, including interviews, in order to better understand the needs of these groups.
Our engagement with each stakeholder group differs and, in some cases, is continuing to be defined. As we pursue our sustainability vision, we intend to further develop our relationship with each group of stakeholders. Current examples of how we are engaging select stakeholder groups include:
- Shareholders – Quarterly and annual financial reporting and quarterly conference calls between senior management and investors and/or analysts.
- Employees – Regular and ongoing direct communications and engagement, including newsletters, intranet sites and satisfaction surveys among our Mohawk field sales staff.
- Customers – Quarterly customer satisfaction surveys about our products and service; ongoing educational tools to educate consumer end-users about the sustainable attributes of our products.
- NGOs – Annual sustainability reporting.
- Government – Participation and support for programs such as the Department of Energy's Save Energy Now Leader Program and the Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWaySM.
